MIXED MEDIA

My latest works have been with mixing various media. Collage is a major tool to enable me to retain maximum freedom when compiling my works, and the etched images, often in the proofing stages of the printmaking process, provide a wealth of possibilities. One-off collages also present the possibility of providing more three-dimensional results, and my latest works the "Floating Landscapes" develop this idea. Isolating etched components in my proofs, I can then freely manipulate them, cutting, mounting on card, using them as a starting point for a three-dimensional painting. I may use watercolour, pen, silver and gold leaf, oil pastel, or coloured pencil to enhance the image.
